Beauty’s of Srinagar in Kashmir

Srinagar articulation is the capital of the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. It is located in Kashmir Valley and lies on the banks of the Jhelum River, a stream of the Indus. The city is famous for its lakes and houseboats. It is also known for conventional Kashmiri handicrafts and dry fruits. It is also the headquarters of Srinagar district.Etymologically Srinagar is composed of two Sanskrit words, namely, Sri (meaning abundance and wealth) and Nagar, which means a city. Thus, the word Srinagar signifies a place of wealth and plenty. Sri is also the name of a goddess Lakshmi of Hindus. A legend, as included in Nila’s   Nilmatapurana, states that the Kashmir valley was a vast lake. A Hindu sage named Kashyapa drained out the water, and there emerged the attractive valley of Kashmir. The city was founded by the King Pravarasena II over 2,000 years ago, and the city of Srinagar has a long history, dating back at least to the 3rd century BC. The city was then a part of the Maurya Empire, one of the largest empires of the Indian subcontinent. Ashoka introduced Buddhism to the Kashmir valley, and the neighboring regions around the city became a centre of Buddhism. In the 1st century, the region was under the control of Kushans and several rulers of this dynasty strengthened the Buddhist custom.

The Mughal Gardens. With terraced lawns, cascading fountains, paint-box-bright flowerbeds with the panorama of the Dal in front of them – the three Mughal Gardens of Chesmashahi, Nishat and Shalimar are the Mughal Emperors’ conception of paradise and are today very popular places for picnics and excursions. The beauty of these gardens is at their best during spring but the Mughal structure of these gardens lends them a unique sense of beauty even when the flowers are not blossoming.
Nishat Bagh Located on the banks of the Dal Lake, with the Zabarwan Mountains as its backdrop this ‘garden of bliss’ commands a magnificent view of the lake and the snow capped Pir Panjal mountain range which stands remote to the west of the valley. Nishat was designed in 1633 AD by Asaf Khan, brother of Nur Jehan.
Shalimar Bagh the Moghul garden in front of the Dal lake built by Emperor Jahangir.
Hazratbal Mosque the white mosque is breathtakingly attractive but be careful, as women can enter only the first part of the mosque.
Ziarati Hazrati Youza Asouph, in the Khanyar area, about 150 meters NW of Dastgir Saheb mosque & shrine. This grave, also known as Roza Bal, is believed by some to be the grave of Jesus (part of the larger theory that he survived the crucifixion and made his way to Kashmir where he lived until at least the age of 100). It has been made popular by recent books such as Jesus Lived in India by Holger Kersten among others. It’s down a little side road – ask around, appealing much anyone in the area can point you in the right way.

Natural beauty of Santorini Island in Greece

Natural beauty of Santorine Island is very attractive. Santorini Island is one of the most beautiful volcanic islands in the world. Such kind of volcanic islands are very exceptional in nature. Volcanic eruptions make the land unsightly but it is the gift of God that human has distorted this viciousness to the beauty. Santorini is one of the most exciting sites just not of the Greece but of the world too. The main attractions of the Santorini are the absurd villages. The capital of the island is Fira. This island is the site of the history’s leading volcanic eruptions which is called Minoan Eruption. The name of the island was given in thirteenth century by Latin Empire. It is also called there but the older name Santorini is still in use. This beautiful island is located in the southern Aegean Sea which is 200 km far from the main land of the Greece. Santorini is the part of Santorini Archipelago which is round in shape. This is the largest island of this group of islands. The area of the island is almost 73 km and the total inhabitants of the island is 13,670. The inhabited islands of the santorini city are Santorini and Therasis while the uninhabited islands are Near, Kemani, Palaia Kemani, Aspronisi and Christiana. The island is the relic of a volcanic cone. The beaches are made of sand and stones. The beaches of the Santorini are horizontal and shallow. The visitors will find different beaches in Santorini like Red Beach, Black Beach, and White Beach etc. These colours of the beach sand are because of the magma of various colours. Readers must have another important fact in knowledge that magma acts as a heat absorber.
So the water is stove at the beaches of dark colours.Greek war of independence gave independence to the Santorini in 1821 from the Ottoman rule. Settlement of London facilitated the fusion of Santorini with Greece in 1830. An earthquake in 1956 and a volcanic wave badly affected the island and demolished many of its buildings. This earthquake resulted the abandonment of the villages. It would be interesting to know that the island has no rivers so the water for custom activities is rare. There was no improvement in this regard till early 1990s when people crammed ponds and cisterns with rain water that fell on the roofs and courts. Water is important for plants as well and the major source for plants is rain in the world. But in Santorini rain is rare so the plants depend on the wetness which they get from the early morning dew. The island has small but affluent wine manufacturing. Although the dry and hot conditions do not support wine growers but still it is getting gratitude. The architecture of the island is the main attraction for the tourists.  Every year many tourists visited Santorini Island. There you will find low lying cubical houses. These houses are white washed and there roofs are coloured in blue. It is said that the sunsets in the Santorini are best in the world. No hesitation it is the best holiday destination in Greece.
